As a multidisciplinary designer with roots in both Vietnam and the U.S., my creative practice lives at the intersection of culture, technology, and visual storytelling. Through 3D design, video editing, and animation, I explore how digital tools can bring environments, ideas, and emotions to life. Whether I’m designing an imagined kitchen space that reflects my future home or capturing the mood of Saigon’s café culture in 3D stills, my work is always grounded in a sense of place, memory, and mood.

New media gives me the freedom to blend traditional design elements with digital possibilities. I’m inspired by how we experience space—both physically and emotionally—and I aim to create visuals that feel immersive, cinematic, and intentional. I’m especially drawn to subtle details: the lighting of a room, the texture of a surface, the rhythm of editing in a short film. These small choices help me create bigger feelings.

The Artist Statement

of Thi Bui

As I continue to grow as a designer, my goal is to push the boundaries of what storytelling can look like in digital environments. I want my work to feel personal but also relatable—rooted in design, shaped by culture, and open to interpretation. Through experimentation, collaboration, and constant learning, I’m building a creative practice that feels true to who I am and where I’m going.
